for my covers, my audio is captured with a yamaha ead10. It's basically an all in one drum mic that clamps on a bass drum. It's not perfect so sometimes it doesn't pick up my left crash/splash due to my tom blocking sound/distance.
also I post full takes, sometimes for the best & sometimes for the worst. resulting in playing I'm not always completely happy with but I ultimately believe a good full take is more impressive than something that's clearly been snapped to grid & has taken several takes.
I don't mix out the drums of the original song out so sometimes you'll hear those drums & since two different drummers are being heard, it won't match up exactly the same.
