Both drones share dual cameras—a 24mm wide and 3x telephoto lens with a 1/1.3-inch sensor—and similar video specs, though the Air 3S supports 4K video at 120fps versus 100fps on the Air 3, offering smoother slow-motion footage. The Air 3S also adds a forward-facing LiDAR sensor for improved omnidirectional obstacle avoidance and enhanced flight safety. The weight difference is minimal (724g vs. 720g), and both have excellent flight times and build quality. Overall, the Air 3S is worth upgrading to if you prioritize superior camera performance and advanced obstacle sensing, while the Air 3 remains a capable all-round drone.
