Please read the description first for better & more info. The YX 8018 is a “joule thief like” oscillator chip, costs only 20-50 cents or so. The oscillating frequency is in the 100 KHz (KC) range, when a 470 uH (Micro Henry) coil is used. With (say) 300 uH: higher frequencies, with (say) 600 uH: lower frequencies. Say between 100 KC and 300 KC. Test, try, measure, experiment.

These frequencies also determine (in a certain way) the output voltage to that LED. Can be a Green, Red or White light LED.

In this video I show the complex waveforms on the oscilloscope that are generated (when using the 470 uH coil) at the output pin of that YX 8108 Chip. Between pin 1 and 2.

This YX 8108 Chip is, in my opinion, a very good and useful chip, both usable as a (say) LF oscillator (in the 100 KC range) and in this application: taking out all of the energy of such a carbon-zinc or a alkaline battery.

Thus: an environmentally good Chip, because many carbon-zinc or alkaline batteries are thrown away in the dump, when their voltage drops from (say) 1.5 Volt to (say) 1.1 Volt.

But this YX 8108 can still use these “depleted” batteries to their real “end of lifetime”, driving a small useful LED light.

Thus on a certain latitude on our earth, where sunlight (to charge batteries, or supply a household) is only enough (in a fierce way) available between March and October, when the weather is good.

Thus, in that case, picking up enough sunshine that can help to give enough energy to households here.

That latitude is crucial in this case, so it will also refer to other places laying on that latitude.
