A lot of women believe that getting the respect of their man is all about being forceful and aggressive. A lot of women go that route and end up finding themselves alone and without a man. Even though that’s a blessing because they can then use that loneliness as a spiritual practice, it never hurts to observe what one does wrong in order to fix their interactions with men.

Sansa represents the immature girl who does everything her man does. He forgives her man for anything and accepts words rather than actions.

King Joffrey never truly respected her for that reason. He explicitly disrespected her and because she set the pattern of the abused one who’s willing to take a sorry as an apology, it gave him the leeway to treat her any way he wanted because he knows all he has to do is apologize.

This was more of a reflection of Sansa’s self-esteem more than anything else. When you believe you can’t do any better than what you currently have, you’ll accept your condition without any desire to improve it.

On the other hand, Margaery Tyrell was confident. She represents the woman with high self-esteem who respects herself. She isn’t aggressive, but she’s a player of the long game. She found out his insecurities and exploited it by enhancing his weakest qualities with positive affirmations.

She noticed his desire to be masculine and, as a result, recited to him his dreams and desires and made herself the beacon of hope; the only one who can make his dreams come true.

As a result, this captivated his attention. She became the bridge between who he is and who he wishes to be. He then became obsessed with her as a result. This happens whenever you find a man’s weakness and empower it.

I will begin to rely on you for support and strength. This makes you indispensable and, as a result, any bond that we have created is automatically strengthened.

Don’t make the mistake that Sansa made and be more proactive about the way men perceive you. Think long-term, assess strengths and weakness and interact with him with that knowledge in mind.
