Premium luxury vehicles are typically the flagship products of top legendary automakers, so it is surprising to see such a product from a new player in the automobile industry. However, X-peng, a new automaker, has introduced a luxury car packed with cutting-edge technology, premium materials, and a distinct design, all at an affordable price. The Xpeng G9 is designed to compete with luxury cars and SUVs from established brands like Audi, Mercedes-Benz, and Tesla. Remarkably, the G9 is priced lower than competitors such as the Tesla Model Y, Audi E-tron, Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV, and BMW i-X.

Affordability is just one of the G9's standout features. The vehicle's battery durability is exceptional, employing a heat pump and preheating system that mitigate the effects of cold weather on battery performance, resulting in more efficient charging and extended range. During extreme heat tests, the Xpeng G9 withstood temperatures of 60 degrees Celsius under the scorching sun, cooling down effectively with the help of its advanced air conditioning system. Additionally, the G9's battery is well-sealed to avoid damage during deep water tests of up to 450 millimeters in depth, and its IPX8 water resistance offers further protection.

The Xpeng G9's battery is the first to be built on an 800 Volt high-voltage platform, enabling faster charging capabilities than the more common 400 Volt platform and enhancing safety standards. The Silicon Carbide platform reduces power consumption, maintaining the G9's initial driving range even in extreme weather conditions. The G9 achieves the highest charging speeds ever recorded in NAF history, with a peak of 319 kW and an average of 212 kW, adding 200 kilometers of range in just 8.4 minutes.

These features make the X-peng G9 stand out among other electric vehicles. During the NAF Summer Test in 2023, 32 electric vehicles, including models from Tesla and BYD, were tested for charging speed and driving range. The Xpeng G9 and P7 excelled, achieving impressive ranges of 588 km (365 miles) and 557 km (346 miles) respectively, with range deviation rates of 113% and 110.3%, securing the top two spots in the test.
