#ChicagoCubs #ShotaImanaga was amazing again and is pitching at a historic rate. You have to go back to 1901 to find a pitcher with these numbers in his first five starts.The #Cubs were quiet on offense again, but #PeteCrowArmstrong was able to drive in an RBI to give the Cubs a 1-0 lead.

But the bottom of the 9th inning was wild. #HectorNeris closed for the Cubs. After getting the first batter out, he proceeded to plunk Pete Alonso. Then JD Martinez drove a ball to the wall. Crow Armstrong was there and got a glove on it but missed the ball as he hit the wall. So now there were runners on second and third. Jeff McNeil hit a fly ball to left field. Ian Happ settled underneath it and then fired the ball to the cut off man who then fired the ball to home plate. Pete Alonso slid into home before the ball got there, but was called out because his hand bounced over the plate and did not touch before the tag hit him. The play went under a long review but the call on the field stood and the Cubs won the game.
