Hello and welcome back! In this lesson you learn two new chords and how to play them on the entire neck with the three corresponding chord shapes and the three corresponding arpeggio shapes for E minor and D major. In addition, I show a demonstration of how the major pentatonic sounds over a backing track versus how this arpeggio method sounds over the same backing track.
I want to emphasize that this method is not all that there is to being excellent at doing improv solos on the guitar. However, it is a truly powerful starting point. Not only do you learn multiple places to easily play the same chords in different locations on the neck, but you learn how to also play songs in one location on the neck versus moving your hand far distances to find the next chord. Over time this will make a huge difference in your playing as you will not get lost like many other guitarists do when searching for the next chord or starting location for their next scale.
This video is a little rough with editing. Sorry about that. I cut quite a lot of footage in order to make it shorter.
Please click the link below to find the exact backing track I am using so that you too can practice with these arpeggio shapes and chords. You will find many wonderful backing tracks there as well that you can possibly play to already. I will be using more of them in future videos to teach new chords as well as different scales and techniques.
