Who’s your favorite member of the King of Queens cast? It was full of heavyweights such as Jerry Stiller and Lou Ferrigno, but its lead actors Kevin James and Leah Remini were a key factor in its success. The two megastars that played the show’s central couple first met in the audition room. They had no problem teasing each other from the beginning, and what began as an interesting meeting turned into a lifelong connection.

Leah and Kevin brought life and heart to the Heffernans. They also kept up the bickering the characters were known for behind the scenes. Occasional fights over everything from minor disagreements to worries over the show ending surfaced and made romantic scenes a bit awkward. The two couldn’t even look at each other sometimes when they had to kiss.

The romance was difficult for them, but maintaining a friendship never was. Leah never tried to convert him to Scientology, and he supported her when she left the church. They always saw each other as family and also became close with each other’s spouses. Kevin and Leah still love to work together and jumped at the opportunity to reunite on another sitcom called Kevin Can Wait. It wasn’t as successful as King of Queens, but they got along as well as ever and felt as if they’d never left each other.

Leah even feels as if Kevin has “ruined” her career in a way. He was her first but best leading man. She feels no one will ever match his level of generosity or make her feel as safe and valued.
