Welcome to our second episode as we reveal the stunning secrets of the Palace gardens, and try unpick a shocking mystery along the way. The work to restore the facades and ornamental greenery of this once abandoned Italian palace is going to be a life-long project. Thank you for being a part of it.

We begin by assessing the scale of decay and collapse in the garden, and while the fallen trees begin to be cleared, we work hard to cut back the overgrowth that has covered many of the facades. Architectural jewels are given new life, and we knew just what we were looking for thanks to a catalogue showing artworks of the original state of the palace in its prime.

With our work done, we invite the son of the original gardener who maintained the estate a generation ago to return and to help is reveal hidden elements of the palace that he remembers from his childhood. And with the long south garden finally cleared, we can give you a tour of its remaining treasures, highlighting those features that have been lost, while filming for the first time a stunning secret chamber at the end of the garden that no one ever told us about.
