Wow these are some rich people!

For this video I took the 10 west from downtown Los Angeles and headed toward the coast. The goal was to find the richest people in all of Los Angeles County. The destination would be the elite, exclusive community of Pacific Palisades, tucked away in a hillside right along the Pacific coast. The day was Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at 2 pm.

Pacific Palisades is a Los Angeles neighborhood located here, at the base of the Santa Monica Mountains, near where Sunset Blvd and the Pacific Coast Highway intersect. It’s just south of Malibu. It’s truly where the mountains meet the sea.

Forget Bel Air and Beverly Hills - these are the wealthiest people in all of Los Angeles. Households here bring in about $185k a year annually. There are close to 25,000 people who live in this exclusive windy hillside community, and 88% of the population here is white. Homes in this neighborhood average $3.4 million dollars. Some homes up here are upwards of $45 million.

Many may not be overly impressive from the road, and some of the biggest homes you can’t see from the road. Those are likely where the world’s most well-known celebrities and other rich and famous Hollywood elites live. This is not a gated community, however. Most of the vehicles parked along the roads in this community were contractors or hired help.

Pacific Palisades also has plenty of parks, a country club, great schools and hiking trails as well as a cute village within its borders.

Anyways - here it is - the wealthiest part of Los Angeles, where you’ll find the most expensive homes and the world’s most well known celebrities.

And of course, leaving West LA means traffic, especially mid to late afternoon. It took two hours to get just to downtown from the coast. And I still had a long way to go to get back to the Inland Empire.
